Member Spotlight: The Orangeblowfish

May 24, 2025

Each month, we shine a spotlight on one of the inspiring agencies within our Tribe community.

This month, we're excited to feature our member agency The Orangeblowfish , headquartered in Shanghai. We asked them a few questions to learn more about their work and vision.

Describe your agency? How do you support your clients?

The Orangeblowfish (TOBF) is an award-winning creative branding agency that blends global creativity with local strategy to build unforgettable brand experiences.

From brand strategy and identity to spatial design and immersive storytelling, we partner with brands to craft holistic experiences that live beyond the screen and into physical spaces. With deep roots in China and a global presence, we help clients bring their brand to life—visually, emotionally, and spatially.

As the creative lead, our clients rely on us to develop original and bold ideas, while delivering seamless execution across every touchpoint. Whether it’s launching a new concept or elevating an existing one, we tailor every solution to meet our clients’ unique business goals. Our approach is multi-sensory, culturally nuanced, and fiercely original.

Whether you're a hospitality group, a retail chain, or a B2B brand looking to make a statement, The Orangeblowfish is your creative partner for brand elevation—from concept to execution.

What is one of your favourite projects and why?

One of our favourite projects to date is the  Arc’teryx Komorebi pop-up experience —an immersive, multi-sensory installation designed to bring the spirit of nature and outdoor adventure into the heart of Shanghai.

To launch Arc’teryx’s System_A collection—a line merging technical performance with urban streetwear—we transformed a high-traffic retail space into a striking, forest-inspired escape. The installation activated four key senses: ambient soundscapes, mist-filled air, forest scents, and textured flooring that mimicked a muddy trail. A giant rotating light sphere created shifting patterns through a leafy ceiling, simulating sunlight filtering through trees.

Every element was built to be shared. From the bold exterior to the glowing, motion-sensor double-glass pillars that lit up to reveal the collection, the space was crafted to ignite curiosity and drive social engagement. Bright, green, and visually striking—it was a branded statement that lived both offline and online. The impact didn’t go unnoticed: the installation was recognised as a Finalist at the IIDA Global Excellence Awards 2022 and took home Gold at the 2023 Transform Awards Asia.

Tell us a fun fact about your agency!

The name The Orangeblowfish was inspired by a classic episode of The Simpsons, where Homer eats an improperly prepared blowfish at the Happy Sumo sushi restaurant and is told he only has 24 hours to live. He makes a list of everything he wants to do before he dies—deciding to live with intention, urgency, and no regrets.

That moment stuck with our co-founder and lead creative, Siu Tang. He always said that if he started a business, he’d name it The Orangeblowfish—as a tribute to living life to the fullest and creating with meaning.
