The Story & Execution

Inspired by the mountainous roots of KOLON Sport (established in 1973), the project aimed to recreate the majesty of Korea’s snow-capped peaks in the heart of Shanghai. The installation outside Jing An Kerry Centre symbolized KOLON's philosophy of coexistence with nature through modern, minimalistic design and immersive storytelling.

Design Features:

  • A minimalist metal-frame structure coated in matte white paint evoked snowy mountain peaks, integrating an organic feel within the urban landscape.
  • Lighting transformed the installation by night, blending natural inspiration with modern aesthetics.
  • An immersive "timeline tunnel" allowed visitors to experience KOLON’s five-decade journey of technological advancement and design evolution.
  • A commemorative wall concluded the journey, where visitors could collect embroidered badges via QR code interaction.
  • The experience highlighted key milestones, innovations, and values such as safety, craftsmanship, and style.

Results

  • High foot traffic from shoppers, passersby, and nearby office workers.
  • Visit by Liu Shishi, the brand’s spokesperson, and other notable guests, amplifying exposure.
  • The installation successfully resonated with the public, offering a tranquil, inspiring escape from city life while strengthening brand identity.
  • It sparked renewed interest in outdoor exploration and emphasized KOLON’s enduring mission to make nature more accessible, safe, and stylish for all.
