Tribe Global has announced James Rice, co-founder of Portland-based creative agency Fiction Tribe as their new Chair, to lead their network of independent communications agencies and smart businesses.

James succeeds the two-year tenure of David Balfour of LIGHTBLUE Creative Experience Agency in the UAE, and will bring fresh knowledge and expertise gained during his 10 years leading Fiction Tribe’s creative campaigns, which combine technology, storytelling, strategy, art, and film to help brands big and small connect with audiences in a way that moves them.

James says he is looking forward to connecting with and creating opportunities for all Members & Partners of Tribe Global.

He said: “I have found Tribe Global to be a powerful source of inspiration throughout the decade in which I built my agency. The evolution of Members and Partners as a whole has been truly remarkable to witness.”

Eager to oversee the cultivation of the next generation of leaders, James is looking forward to harnessing the shared knowledge of Tribe Global’s collaborative community of peers as they share their challenges and goals to develop new ways of working.

The announcement comes as Tribe Global steps into its second decade, and ahead of their third TribeOpen event, later this year in New York City. TribeOpen brings together a collection of keynotes, panel discussions, workshops and networking opportunities to provide insight into the hottest topics in the advertising and marketing world.
